The route combines spirituality, medieval art, ancient abbeys and theatrical reenactments, offering visitors the opportunity to explore the spiritual and cultural legacy of St Benedict and the lasting influence of Benedictine culture across Europe

07:00 Departure from Rome: address Via Bastioni di Michelangelo, 21
Welcome reception, departure by dedicated Euro VI coach and distribution of the “Benedictine Kit”.
08:30 – Subiaco
Visit to the Monastery of Santa Scolastica and the Sacred Cave (Sacro Speco), the place traditionally associated with the solitude and contemplation of St Benedict.
10:00 – Towards Anagni
On-board storytelling dedicated to the relationship between spiritual and political power during the Middle Ages.
12:00 – Anagni
Visit to the Cathedral of Santa Maria and its renowned medieval crypt, often referred to as the “Sistine Chapel of the Middle Ages”.
Palace of Boniface VIII
Historical reenactment of the famous “Slap of Anagni”, the dramatic confrontation between Pope Boniface VIII and the envoys of the King of France.
13:15 – Experiential Light Lunch
Tasting experience inspired by the traditional flavours of the Ciociaria area south of Rome.
15:30 – Montecassino
Visit to the Abbey of Montecassino, including the Crypt of St Benedict and Saint Scholastica, and the places connected to Benedictine history and memory.
18:30 – Arrival in Rome at Via Leone IV
Return journey accompanied by contemplative music and concluding reflections.
